Congratulations Cat Watson New VA Beach EMS Brigade Chief

Brigade Chief Cat Watson joined VBEMS in 1998 as a member of the Virginia Beach Volunteer Rescue Squad and completed the accelerated paramedic program at Tidewater Community College in 2002. Chief Watson was hired by the Department in the initial hiring of medics in 2004 progressing to Senior Paramedic in 2008 and to Captain in 2015. Chief Watson was the VBEMS Lifeguard program manager from 2012 until her promotion to Brigade Chief. Chief Watson’s accomplishments include the City of Virginia Beach Mid-Level Management course, City of Virginia Beach Gettysburg Leadership Retreat, and numerous instructorships. Chief Watson has received the Department’s Medal of Merit award and the Outstanding Contribution to EMS for Children award. She has also received an EMS Commendation award from the Sons of the American Revolution. Chief Watson is an avid animal lover and enjoys vacations to LEGO Land with her family in her spare time.
