At Lives Need Saving we send our congratulations to Chesapeake Beach Volunteer Rescue Squad, Life Member, Mike Rahuba on reaching 20 years of service in emergency medical prehospital care and earning, “senior man” status with the City of Virginia Beach Department of EMS.

Mike joined the Chesapeake Beach Volunteer Fire Department and Rescue Squad in 1994, and despite a few years away due to military and civilian commitments, has served as an EMT Basic, Enhanced EMT, Technical Rescue Specialist and Firefighter achieving #LifeMember status in 2004.

Mike also served as President, Vice President, Fund Drive Coordinator and numerous other positions as well throughout the years.

Some of his favorite memories have included being a member of our heavy rescue “Squad Truck,” the squad parties on Lookout Road, and the many station shenanigans that make our CBVRS team a true family. Thanks for your service, Mike!

Did you know, Virginia Beach residency is not required to join the Volunteer Rescue Squads of Virginia Beach and the training is free?
