Mike Rifenburgh is a National Registry Paramedic (NRP) and Certified Medical Assistant (AAMA) who brings over 10 years of patient care experience from a diverse array of specialties. He began his career with the Department of Rheumatology at Seattle Children’s Hospital. Mike became an active member of the Children’s Emergency Response Team, medical branch, that responded to hospital and community events. He accepted a position operating a nurse practitioners internal medicine practice. Then presented an opportunity in orthopedic surgery/sports medicine with TRIA Orthopedics in Bloomington Minnesota. This unique experience working alongside team physicians and players of the Minnesota Vikings, also provided medical for coverage for additional sporting events in the community.
After moving to Virginia Beach, Mike immediately began the process of obtaining his Associates of Applied Science Degree in EMS from TCC. During this time, Mike worked the emergency department for Virginia Beach General Hospital while volunteering with the Princess Anne Courthouse Volunteer Rescue Squad as an EMT and paramedic for 3 years. He has continued to refine his skills working with Chesapeake Fire Department and Norfolk Fire-Rescue. Mike currently resides with his wife, two children, and two dogs. You can find him making time for his family and friends. As a military family of 18 years, with many deployments, they enjoy their quiet time. He enjoys reading medical journals, as well as staying active with CrossFit, hiking, camping, and visiting a good brewery in the area.
