Posted by & filed under Local and Regional Events.

At Lives Need Saving, we recognize November as #diabetesawarenessmonth💙 & November 14th as #WorldDiabetesDay.

“Did you know, in the United States, over 100 million adults & children live with diabetes and pre-diabetes?”

The Volunteer Rescue Squads of Virginia Beach would like to share with you a few signs and symptoms of a diabetic emergency.

-Clammy skin

-Profuse sweating

-Drowsiness or confusion

-Weakness or feeling faint

-Sudden loss of responsiveness.

Our volunteer EMTs-Medics are trained-equipped to identity & treat diabetic emergencies. If you suspect a diabetic emergency, call 911 right away.

“This could be you-A certified EMT”

After a year of training as a National Registered EMT, you will be on the streets, helping the sick and injured, as an “attendant in charge” with the Volunteer Rescue Squads of Virginia Beach.”

Our next two free EMT classes start in January, 2021. That is just two months away.
